18 Month Checkup
Today was Elizabeth's 18 month checkup at her doctor's. We wondered how she would react because the last couple times she has gotten shots and even when they do simple things like listening to her chest she freaks out and cries.
We were in the waiting room for only a minute or two before they called us in. I had Elizabeth walk into the room while holding my hand rather than carry her in. She did fine. We then had to undress her for the scale and she was fine until I sat her on the scale - for some reason she doesn't like it. I had to lay her down so they could get her height measurement while she is still crying.
We got back into the room and she calmed down. For the most part she was very good for the rest of the appointment. We tried to distract her when they were listening to her chest and trying to make it a game when they were looking in her ears and eyes.
Her height at this time is: 33 inches (she is in the 75-90th percentile for her age)
Her weight at this time is: 25 lbs 5 oz (she is a little above the 50th percentile)
They were happy to see she had a growth spurt since the last time as she had slowed down a little. Her next appointment (after her flu shot in October) won't be until she is 2 years old. And there should be no more shots (other than flu shots) until she is 5 years old.
