More Snow
Well we got more snow overnight. We were awakened by my cell phone (which oddly enough I don't usually keep in our bedroom during the night). My boss called at 5:50am to ask if I had power and to say he wouldn't be in due to his loss of power at his house. We still had power at this time. Shortly after hanging up with him and being a little annoyed for the early call there was a flash of lightening outside our bedroom window and then 5 quick flashes of different colored lights. Lightening or a tree limb struck the transformer a couple doors down. We lost power at 6:00am.
We did get it back for 5 minutes shortly after it went out – it was enough time to heat up some water for tea. Derrick was very upset over the damage to our tree line. I told him that as long as we were safe that is all that mattered because we couldn't control mother nature and this would happen in the woods normally. We had a lot of tree limbs break off and we still have some tree toppers hanging down from the top that we are keeping an eye on. He did go out and bang the tree limbs he could reach with this long tube of plastic piping so that helped the limbs go back up since they were drooping so low. You could hear trees cracking everywhere around us.
Hopefully we will get our power back soon. For entertainment, we listened to the radio and the people calling into the radio stations. Here are some pictures from our overnight snow storm...

When you have no power you tend to get bored (so why not dress up the dog):
