Walmart King Pins

We are very unhappy at the moment because recently we found out that Walmart is trying to move into the backyard of Elizabeth's daycare. They plan on building a super Walmart with 1000+ parking spots plus having a gas station in a spot that is brush and a watershed area. Plus it is in a residential area which could possibly be flooded should the construction not include redirecting the water.
Derrick and I are mainly concerned with the possibility of pedophiles sitting in the parking lot and watching the daycare while the kids are out playing or possibly snatching one. There are no other stores in the area at the moment and there is a Walmart roughly 8 miles in two directions so there is no need to build one there.
Derrick went to the town meeting and he said it was standing room only. There had to be 300 people there and the issue about the store went on for 2 and a half hours making a long night for the board members since there were other items on the agenda as well. The director of the daycare got up and spoke as did 30 other people including the land owners lawyer. The owner kept silent but was pointed out to Derrick. He was an old man that looked to be in his 90s. The owner of the daycare said that they paid a hefty price for the amount of land they bought from him.
The board voted 7-0 to look into rezoning the land again and hopefully this will prevent Walmart from moving in there. If not the daycare will probably lose a lot of business since the traffic situation will be a lot worse (hard enough trying to get out of the parking lot around 5:00pm) and the sense of security will be diminished. The board members said they have never had so much response/feedback against an issue as they did with this one. They received tons of calls and emails (as well as the big turnout) against the Walmart building there.
