Alyson and Don went home today since they were going to a baseball game in Toronto tomorrow. They took a couple fish home with them for us since Don had a conservation license and could legally take two home.

After they left Derrick decided to take his Grandfather's boat out alone for it's maiden voyage and go to his Grandparent's favorite fishing spot on the lake. He caught a couple fish and threw most of them back.

Here's the one he brought back since it got injured with the hook:


We went out later in Grandpa's boat while Elizabeth took a nap (her Grandpa stayed in the cabin with her) and did some more fishing. We caught a lot of Big Mouth Bass babies and tossed them back. It's amazing how greedy they are.

We gave Elizabeth a bath today in the lake today too after she got up from her nap. She didn't mind as it got her back in her favorite element.

We had a fish fry tonight since we had more than we could take back home with us and it's easy and quick to prepare. It was delicious and it was my first time having Pike. It tasted a little like Tuna in my mind. But the nice part is we learned how to clean it, prepare it, and cook it after calling Derrick's Grandmother. Now we know what to do next time should we catch and keep a Pike.
