Poor Baby

Today I got a call around 3:00pm from Elizabeth's daycare saying she had vomitted (which she hasn't done at all in her lifetime), had a couple loose poops during the day and refused to eat her lunch. I got Elizabeth home but then ended up taking her to the Emergency Room since she was very lethargic, running a high temperature and our stupid ear thermometer was reading anywhere from 101 to 107. On the way there I called Derrick at work to let him know I was taking her there. He said he would meet me at the hospital.

They took her immediately (once we got into the triage office) because they were concerned with her heart rate. They gave her IV fluids, took a chest xray, took blood samples, and an ear culture. They said she was a little dehydrated, chest xray looked like she had pnemonia, and they thought she had a double ear infection. So we were there for four hours. She took a nap for a little while when Derrick ran home to take the dogs out for potty. She also tried a couple licks of a popsicle which she didn't care for too much (I don't blame her because it was cherry flavored).

By the end of it she was her perky happy self. They gave her a high dosage/IV of an antibiotic and gave us a prescription for amoxicillin. We were told to call her doctor on Saturday and make an appointment for him to see her. Another patient was nice and gave her a stuffed animal bunny just before we left.
