Frustration

I have heard that there is a stage where babies just change suddenly and you are left wanting to pull your hair out in frustration - toddler stage.

We are now in this stage of life. Elizabeth for the last several weeks had turned her nose up at veggies. She used to LOVE her sweet potatoes and butternut squash - now she turns her head almost practically around like the exorcist chick to avoid them coming near her mouth. She does LOVE her fruit still and that's all she ever wants to eat, along with her cheerios and bananas.

We have tried to give her other foods like from what we are eating during dinner and sometimes she will take one or two pieces and then start snubbing it. She also doesn't like when things are mixed. I tried to sneak in a little scrambled egg on her piece of bread and she started crying when it touched her mouth. She doesn't like new sensations as far as textures of different foods. We will have to work on her with this. I just wished she was more willing to try new things before snubbing it - she never used to be this fussy before! I want my eat everything baby back...

Another new thing with Elizabeth is she hits. Not maliciously - she thinks she is being funny when she does it. We tried different things trying to convince her she shouldn't hit but they didn't work. I also tried pretending I was crying after she did it. The first time I did it she thought I was joking and laughed a little so I had to pretend a little longer - she then started getting concerned. The next couple times I did it she started crying so I'm hoping that she will stop doing this if she knows what hitting does to another person. I don't want to hit her because she is still young and she might not fully understand.
