Sleep Marathon
Oh my did we ever have a sleep marathon!
Last night we put Elizabeth in bed for her nap at 8:00pm. I laid down and was hoping to just fall asleep and maybe have Derrick give her a bottle when she needed to get up at 10:00pm. Well shortly after I laid down Derrick had come upstairs and he laid down too 'for just a minute'. The next thing we know it's 12:45am! And our thoughts were 'Oh crap! What do we do now?!' Derrick took the dogs out real quick since they didn't get their last potty break (that they usually get at 9:30pm) while I debated on waking Elizabeth up. She had slept for almost 5 hours and I was worried that if we woke her up she would be up for several hours. So we decided to just let her sleep and if she woke us up at 3:00am then so be it - at least we will be well rested.
Our alarm clocks started going off around 6:00am and she was still sleeping. We did hear her wake up and stir around 4:00am but she only cried for a second and then went back to sleep. Derrick asked me what time I had gotten up to feed her at and I told him I didn't. I think I did get up when she cried just to check to see if she was awake but that was about it since she fell asleep again.
I got up around 6:30am and looked in on her and she was awake but just being quiet. She had also turned herself to lay the short way of the crib so that the top of her head and feet were both touching the bumpers. Needless to say she was in desperate need of a diaper and she was also very hungry.
Now we are debating if we should try it again to see if this was a fluke or just do our usual "wake her up at 10:00 to feed her for the night routine." In a way I don't want to lose sleep if she doesn't sleep all the way through so I'm scared about doing it again.
