Thirty-Eight Weeks Old

Elizabeth turned 38 weeks old today!

Today was pretty much a calm day for Elizabeth after all her partying yesterday. The day was spent doing stuff around the house and outside the house. It got into the 70s this morning and so Derrick took advantage of the warm and dry weather to go outside and cut the backyard.

He got done just in time for it to start downpouring. We got the aftermath of high winds and heavy rain from the tornados that hit Kentucky and Indiana. Our lights flickered a couple times during the afternoon and our cable went on and off probably due to the winds. Such crazy weather.

Things that are new with Elizabeth:
- she is trying to pull herself up
- she can kneel (awkwardly) after she pulls herself up - she has one leg in a kneeling position and the other leg is stiff and straight out to the side
- she is getting closer to crawling - she just has to figure out how to get her one leg behind her (it always gets stuck in front under her)
- she did get into a crawl position last night Derrick said (her leg went behind her finally) but once she was in the position she just sprawled
- she loves to grab anything she can get her hands on while on the floor
- she is getting better at butt scooting around the room (she still doesn't realize she is doing it - she does realize that she can now reach what she was trying to reach when she was further away from the object after butt scooting)
- she pushes herself backwards while on her belly (reverse crawl?)

We are so in trouble when she does start crawling!

It won't be long now. And you will be wishing she could sit and play on the floor in one spot!
