A Lot of Firsts
Today was a busy day. Derrick and his dad got up early to go to the meeting that the cabin group has each year. My mom and I went for a walk up the long road that runs from the main road through the woods to the cabins with Elizabeth. When they came back we were invited out by another cabin to go on the boat for a picnic lunch. It was really nice of them to offer since my mom has never seen the lake and plus Derrick's dad hadn't pulled out his boat for us to use. As we pulled away from the dock, it started sprinkling and still was when we got to the spot we were going to drift at while we ate our lunch. The sun did come out and we sat there for a little while. We could see the dark rain clouds hanging over the one section of lake and decided we better head back since we didn't want to get hit by the downpour while trying to dock.
This was Elizabeth's first boat ride:

She loved it! She loved the sound of the motor and the motion of the water. She ate her lunch while we ate ours.
When we got back to the beach we decided to see how she would like the sand since the rain still hadn't come. She liked that too. But she was more interested in watching the water. The sun was sparkling on the water so it had a hypnotizing effect on her.
Her sand experience:

Then we put her feet in the water. She loves the water at home - she always cries when we take her out of the bath. Well this was no different. We put her in the very edge of the water so the water could come in and splash her and when we picked her up to take her in she started crying. She will definitely be a water baby when she's older.

Later in the afternoon we had the cabin potluck/picnic. The sun came back out after a quick rain and so we were able to enjoy the yummy food everyone brought while sitting outside. Elizabeth ate and then fell asleep while we were eating.
