Crazy Day
This day was just unusual...
Elizabeth slept well last night. She went to bed around 11:00pm and woke up around 5:30am. She then slept until 8:00am. So we got some sleep... I was able to put her down to sleep for another hour or so and then we got up.
Our addition had a leak yesterday and so the contractor came over today to look at it. We watched TV and just relaxed while waiting for him to show up. He finally came over but wasn't able to do much due to the snow...
We also were waiting for a call from my other girlfriend and her husband who wanted to come over to see Elizabeth. We were hoping they would come over around 1:00pm. Time went by and we finally called them around 3:00pm to see if they were still coming. Turns out they lost track of time while doing staining work on their house. They ended up coming over around 4:30 because they had to plow themselves out in order to get out of their driveway. It was a really windy day today and the wind had made the snow drift into their path out.
They left around 8:00pm. Elizabeth slept most of the time they were here which was fine. My girlfriend and her husband aren't really into children and so she made a good impression on them. ;) She did end up waking up and so I had to go upstairs to feed her. My girlfriend's husband fixed our wall switch too in the addition since it had blown out while we were watching the Super Bowl. So now we have light again in the eating area in our addition. :)
Elizabeth turned 3 weeks old today. She has grown bigger. Derrick measured her with the measuring tape and as far as we can tell (since measuring a wiggling baby is not easy) she is a little over 22 inches long.
Here's my baby today:
Things we have noticed differently about her:
- She is looking around more
- She is making more and more noises
- Her smiles seem more voluntary and not just a reflex
- She seems to look at the dogs if they are near by
- Her belly button seems to be all healed now
- She likes foot massages - I've been putting some baby lotion on her dry skin
- She likes having her hair washed
We still don't know what her eye color is... They still have a grey hue to them. Another thing I was pondering - how can a baby/person get an outie belly button?

So adorable! I'm not sure about the belly button thing. I think it's hereditary.
