Sleepy Day

Today Elizabeth was sleepy for most of the day. Not that I'm complaining - I'm just concerned she'll stay up all night. It did make it easier on me when I had to go to the DMV and the post office. She just slept the whole time. I was able to get a 40 minute nap in after we got home. But she has also been a stinker the other times she fell asleep - she would fall asleep on my chest or in my lap and then wake up when I put her down. I'm also hoping she is ok and isn't sleeping cause she's unwell. She feels ok and doesn't seem to be cranky. I did put a much warmer outfit on her today because I was taking her out in the cold so maybe she's jusy sleepy from being toasty warm.

I started reading The Baby Whisperer that I've been meaning to get into for awhile now. I don't know what to think of it. It talks about not doing the feed on demand method with the baby and that's basically what Elizabeth does. I know you don't have to follow everything you read but it throws doubt in my mind that I'm not doing the right thing... It suggests developing a routine - eat, play, sleep. But she doesn't really play right now and doesn't seem to have the patience or want to observe a toy.

The DMV was funny today. I had Elizabeth's face/head covered when I went into the building since it was so cold out and I just left her covered to keep the germs down (if possible). A father and his 4 year old son got in line behind me and I hear the father say, "Look she's carrying a blanket" to his son. I turn around and laugh at him. The next thing I hear the father say to the son is "Look the blanket is moving!" She had started stirring a little and was moving her arms under the blanket. So I pulled the blanket off of her head and she was still sleeping peacefully. The father then asked me how old she was and I told him. The woman who took my picture thought she was a sweetie pie too. :D

I also had a brain fart while I was there. The woman asked me to sign and date the paperwork that was mailed to me. I stupidly asked her what the date was and she said March 10th - the day before your birthday! How stupid of me! LOL But I have lost track of the days since I'm not working and I'm amazed I can remember to make it to any appointment. So I said something silly to her like "Guess I'm trying to forget". :)

I'm glad the DMV wasn't very busy today. The one county in our area (that we used to live in) has shut down two of the offices at a time due to budget problems and is rotating the days that they are open. So people from that county have been coming over to our smaller county to go to our DMVs since all of our offices are still open. I heard one guy mention he was from the other county today while he was at the counter so the news report was correct. I was only there for 5 or 10 minutes so I was happy. The post office wasn't very busy either - another plus! :D

So that was our big adventure out today. :)
