A Day Off
Today Derrick told me that I needed to go out and do something... Go out with my mom or my girlfriends but just get out of the house. He said I should take a break from the baby and do something for myself. It was a beautiful day out and the sun was shining. I went out with my mom and did some grocery shopping. I also took back all the cans and bottles since we were experiencing an overflow of them in the garage and I got $9.50 back (told you we had a lot at .05 a piece).
We got back to the house and all of us went for a walk, including the dogs. We got halfway down the block and were stopped by a couple who were doing yardwork. They wanted to see the greyhounds. The wife said that they were thinking of adopting one from the BGA and we told them how they were excellent dogs (of course!). So the dogs got some pats and lovin' and we moved on.
On the way back home, this young girl comes walking down her driveway and I thought she wanted to see the dogs (since she had a little boy with her at the time too). She reaches out her hand and hands me a card with her name and phone number written on it while saying her name and that she was 12 and if we ever needed a babysitter to give her a call. I just thought that was so cute! What a little entrepeneur! :D She must have seen us walk by the first time and ran in to get her 'business card'. I was just tickled the rest of the afternoon at the thought of her.
Around 5:30pm, my mom and I went out with my girlfriend and her mom to the Galleria Mall. I had called her earlier in the day to see if she wanted to go shopping. I wanted some advice when I went clothes shopping and I knew she would love to help me out. We got to her house at 6:00pm and went to the mall from there. I didn't get home until 10:15pm. It was a lot of fun but I was exhausted! I'm not one for shopping and trying on clothes but it was great to be out of the house. I modeled the clothes for Derrick and he liked what I bought and was glad I got some bargains after seeing the original prices on the tags.
We really got a bargain on the one shirt at Kaufmann's! My girlfriend jokingly said you find good stuff on the floor of stores/under the racks. She handed me this one shirt and after trying it on I liked it. We get to the register and the cashier rings it up and has this funny look on her face. I asked her what the price was and she said $3.92! It was marked down to $20.00 on the tag! I turned around to my girlfriend and we just burst out laughing because what she said came true. What a steal!
Elizabeth was a good girl while I was gone. Derrick was really happy with how she behaved for him. She was fussing when I came home and Derrick said she must have heard me pull in because she wasn't doing that a couple minutes before I walked in. :D I did miss my baby a little bit and was wondering the whole time if she was crying with Daddy. I didn't call home because I didn't want to start feeling bad if I heard her crying in the background. Derrick was exhausted and went to bed shortly after I got home. He said he doesn't know if I'm exhausted after watching her all day but if I am exhausted I don't show it.
