Mama's New Wheels

Today we purchased/brought home a 1937 Special Edition Buick. Ever since we have owned our house, we have driven past this house (see above) on the way home from work that had this Buick sitting on the side next to the garage. It just sat there for a couple years doing nothing except getting moved so that the grass could be trimmed underneath it. Well Derrick finally couldn't take it anymore and stopped and talked to the owner of it. The guy said he would be willing to sell it and was great about coming down in price from what he originally quoted. So now it is in our driveway. It's in excellent shape for it's age and the guy had most of the parts that went with it. The only thing missing from it is the trunk handle.

And yes it is technically mine. I have always liked the 1930s cars especially the Eliminator Coupe (look at the ZZ Top album and you'll know what I'm talking about). We got an excellent deal on this car and it will be fun fixing it up. It will also be great to take the family in it to a cruise night or to a car show. Derrick still has his 1982 Caprice show car so he can drive that and I'll drive this. And should things not work out we can always sell it for more than what we bought it for.
